Homophobic hate crime is any criminal offence committed against a person or property
directed at someone who is -
The Criminal Justice Act 2003 introduced tougher sentences for homophobic hate crime.
Officers will be sympathetic and can make arrangements to meet you away from the police station.
The Police can only do something about Hate Crime if it is reported to them.
Third Party Reporting is where you tell another organisation about the incident and they report it for you.
This protects your anonymity and and helps the police identify areas LGBT people are at greatest risk and help stop hate crime.

Hate crime can be verbal, physical or emotional:
Physical assault damage to property,
offensive graffiti,neighbour disputes and arson.
Threat of attack offensive letters or texts, abusive or obscene telephone calls, groups hanging around to intimidate,unfounded complaints.
Verbal abuse or insults offensive leaflets and posters, abusive gestures, rubbish outside homes or through letterboxes
